What are the first steps I should take if I am having academic trouble with a particular subject?

Your first step should be to talk to your teacher. They may be able to provide you with extra help during lunch or after school. Be sure to see your counselor if you are struggling in any academic area. Your counselor can provide you with guidance on time management, study tips, or if needed set up a meeting with your parents and teachers.

What are some ways I can stay on top of my academics?

Make sure you have set up your school loop account and that you check it regularly to see your grades, assignments, or e-mail your teacher(s). Use a planner, even if you didn't purchase one from the school...staying organized and write down all of your assignments and when scheduled tests and quizzes are, this will help you stay on top of things.

What options do I have for tutoring resources?

Khan Academy- A donor-supported, not for profit website designed to help students learn what they want, when they want, at their own pace.

HippoCampus: Homework & Study Help- The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multi-media content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge. The website uses Adobe Flash, make sure you have Adobe Flash Player 7.0 or higher installed on your system.
