Nice to meet you.

I am excited to join the wonderful team of teachers at El Camino High School in South San Francisco!

I recently graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where I obtained a BA in Spanish as well as a teaching credential in Spanish (K-12) and mathematics. I was raised in a small town in West Michigan called Coopersville. Growing up, I spent a lot of time fishing on the Great Lakes with my dad, something that I still do whenever I make it home. I come from a large family including 30 aunts and uncles and nearly 50 first cousins. I have a younger brother and an older sister as well as five nephews and three nieces. Culture, family and tradition are very important to me. I am a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, a tribal community from Northern Michigan. During college, I was really involved with the Native American Student Association at Michigan as well as the Dance for Mother Earth Powwow, a Native American cultural gathering that draws 4,000 people to Ann Arbor every spring. I hope to get involved with the Native community in the Bay Area and I am also working to learn Ojibwe, my tribe's traditional language, in my free time.

During college I majored in Spanish and took both French and Ojibwe classes. In the future, I hope to study other languages including tribal languages, Chinese and German. I also enjoy stand-up comedy, Michigan sports, cooking and spending time outdoors. Go Blue!
