I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved with my family to United States in 1964. I realized that I wanted to be a teacher by the time I entered Junior High School. When I graduated from high school, the teaching field was impacted so I became a dental assistant. I worked in this field for 17 years before I decided to quit, return to school and, fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher. I am now in my 15th year of teaching and plan to retire from this profession, which I truly enjoy. I received my BA, teaching credential, and Masters in Administration from San Francisco State University. My first teaching job was in San Francisco. I then taught for the Pacifica School District, the San Mateo Union School District and am in my 5th year at ECHS.
Anyone that knows me will tell you that soccer is a huge part of my life. I have been playing for 31 years and plan on playing for as long as my body can handle it. I have coached soccer for approximately 20 years, but enjoy playing much more than coaching. I support our local teams by attending games and I watch as many games on TV as I find time for. I also enjoy cycling and water skiing, both of which I've done for about as long as soccer.
