Daniele Smith

Welcome to Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology! I'm Ms. Smith, and I'm excited to be teaching another year in El Camino.  A little about myself: I grew up in Santa Cruz/Campbell, then moved up to Chico to get my degree in Biology.  After college, I student taught in my old high school before moving on to get my teaching credential.  I've taught at both high schools and middle schools, and have a special interest in the medical field, something I am happy to pass on to my students.

This is my seventh year at El Camino HS--COLT PRIDE!  I love going to new places, meeting new people, and learning new things.  Art and writing are hobbies of mine. My room has several pets, including some 'scary' ones, because I love animals.  And remember: only boring people are bored!

My goal this school year: more frequent and formal CFU's, or Checking for Understanding. CFU's are typically a series of 1-4 questions asked after a class period that see where students stand in their learning, and where ideas might need review.

I hope to have an excellent year and if you have any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to email or call me.  My email is dsmith@ssfusd.org and my extension is 6146.
