Important Reminders

Important Reminders from the El Camino High School Attendance Office:

  • Only the parent or custodial guardian may excuse students from school.
  • Students must bring in a note to clear ALL absences and tardies upon their return.  We do not accept phone calls to clear absences.
  • Students who need to leave early must bring in a note with the time of dismissal and the reason.  If they do not have a note, the parent or custodial guardian will need to come into the Attendance Office with photo ID before the student is summonsed from class.
  • For safety and liability reasons, we do not dismiss any students early from school with a phone call.
  • Unexcused absences will be subject to discipline.

Thank you.

In Memory of Pattie Stiltner

Pattie Stiltner dedicated herself to the South San Francisco Unified School District for 30 years. As an alumnus of El Camino High School (Class of 1969) she always loved to show her Colt Pride at school.  She started working in SSFUSD as noon duty aide from 1988 to 1993. In 1997 she worked as campus security at Alta Loma Middle School and then took on a position as Library Media Tech at El Camino High in 2000. In addition to those positions, she served as the Cheer Spirit Advisor for several years while her daughters attended El Camino. She attended almost every Board meeting and was a champion axe thrower and rifle shooter. At work, she worked hard to make sure that each program and student had the textbook resources they needed. Many related, when reflecting on Pattie, that she was always willing to “give it to you straight.” Her dedication to the students and staff is what we will miss most about her. We honor her memory and we will never forget all that she gave to our school and to the South San Francisco community.

About Peachjar eflyers

In the past, our schools sent home loads of flyers in students’ backpacks. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly and to embrace innovative technology, we have moved from paper to a digital flyer delivery.

With our Peachjar eflyer program, the eflyers will be sent directly to parents’ email inboxes as well as posted on school websites for easy access. All flyers may be accessed by clicking on the  logo.

Each year, our schools will save tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. In addition, paperless delivery of school flyers removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.

School and school district-approved eflyers will keep you informed about upcoming school activities, programs, and events. And our children's backpacks will be a little bit lighter!
