Early Release Procedure

Students need to bring a note signed by their parents to leave campus early.  Without a note, the parent needs to come in to the Attendance Office with his/her picture ID.  Students will not be released with a phone call.

New Policy: Non-Participation List

On Friday, January 21, 2011, the following policy was instituted and announced to the student body:

  • A “non-participation list” of students who fail to serve their detentions, Saturday School or who have two or more “F’s” in any grading period has been created.
  • Any student falling within any of these categories will not be permitted to attend athletic events, dances (including Ball and Prom), performing arts events, etc.

NEW LAW:

Tdap vaccine required to attend school for 7th through 12th grade students in the fall 2011.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to ECHS Social Science Teacher Michael Zozos who was named the Region 4 Educator of the Year by the California League of High Schools.  He is now in the running for Educator of the Year for the entire state of California, which will be announced at the CLHS conference in Sacramento in February.

 The Mission Statement of El Camino High School

The mission of El Camino High School is to provide each student with a strong, standards-based academic and elective program conducted in a safe and supportive environment with a staff dedicated to providing each student with the opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes which empower him/her to achieve his/her potential. The school will promote a respect for cultural diversity and communicate on a regular basis with parents and/or guardians.  (November, 2008)

Tutoring Available!

If you are in need of a tutor for Math, Science, English or Foreign Language your Counselor can connect you with a student tutor.  Student tutors are fellow El Camino students who have excelled in a particular subject and are available for private tutoring at the very reasonable cost of $10 per hour.  Please contact your Counselor for more details!
